Overview
A symbol of Argentina’s romantic nationalism, spend the day with gauchos (the hardworking horsemen) on the endless grassy horizons of the Pampas. Begin the tour with a scenic drive along the Pan-American Highway that takes you into Argentina’s breadbasket.
On the way to Santa Susana Estancia (ranch), you will see corn, sunflowers and cattle depending on the season. After a traditional Gaucho reception at the ranch with home-made pastries and drinks, give rein to your wilder spirit and explore the ranch on horseback.
Acquaint yourself with agricultural practices and cattle breeding as romanticized tales of gaucho exploits capture your imagination. Once you have worked up a healthy appetite, a lavish treat awaits you comprising typical barbeque, salads, dessert and local wines. Throw in some folk music, dance and a horse show and you will experience exhilaration in the simple joys of an Estancia!

Itinerary
This tour is available in private. The private option offers you greater flexibility.
For Private (Deluxe) tour you will be picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Buenos Aires and taken to an Argentine ranch or Estancia. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.
On your way to the Estancia (60 miles from Buenos Aires), travel along the Pan-American Highway which comprises of three zones: residential, industrial and agricultural. On arrival at Santa Susana Ranch, enjoy a typical Gaucho reception with empanadas (stuffed pastries) and beverages. The 3000-acres of the estancia are devoted mainly to agriculture and also to cattle and horse breeding. You will see a main house and some straw-roofed buildings where the dining room, ‘pulperia’ is set. It is a traditional general store which was a place for social gathering of the cowboys (gauchos) during sundown.
You can ride a horse or enjoy a horse-driven cart ride around the ranch. For lunch, enjoy a typical barbeque comprising grilled beef, chicken, pork sausages, salads, dessert and coffee/wine, in the dining room.
If you are taking this tour on a Wednesday or Sunday, you have the chance to enjoy a folkloric show with live music, dancing and tango demonstration, followed by ring races with gauchos displaying their equestrian skills.
After spending a memorable time at a typical Argentine estancia, return to Buenos Aires and you will be dropped back to your hotel.
