Stumble further back in time as you visit ‘the place where men became Gods’- the 2000 year old Teotihuacán pyramids. Mexico’s answer to Egypt, Teotihuacán has some of the largest pyramids in the world and yet this civilization continues to be shrouded in mystery.

Dwell on this intriguing civilization as you explore the imposing pyramids of the Sun and the Moon and walk down the Avenue of Dead, past the Temple of the Butterflies.

Teotihuacan Pyramids and Guadalupe Shrine Tour - Itinerary


This tour has two options; you can opt for a private tour or a coach tour. You will be picked up from your hotel in Mexico City. Accompanied by an English-speaking driver / guide, you will be taken to the Shrine of Guadalupe. Considered the holiest place in the Western Hemisphere, this is the most visited religious site in Latin America. Our lady of Guadalupe is known as the Empress of America. The basilica was built in the 16th century and remains one of the finest examples of Spanish baroque art.

From the Basilica de Guadalupe, continue on to the pre-Aztec city of Teotihuacan and discover the magic and mystery of this 2000 year old city. It was a place where sacrifices were made to the god, often in correlation with astronomical events. You can even climb to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun (third largest in the world) and the Pyramid of the Moon. Visit the Citadel, a large open space surrounded by temples and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the feathered serpent) decorated with sculptures of serpent’s head, snails, shells and symbols of water. Walk down the Avenue of the Dead, visit the Temple of Butterflies and explore the pre-Hispanic structures and ruins.

After exploring this important archaeological site, you will be transferred back to the starting point of the tour.
