Sightseeing in Mumbai and Elephanta Caves
-
Aperçu
Mumbai is the commercial capital of India and home to many iconic landmarks: the Gateway of India, built in 1942 to commemorate the visit of King George V to India, Marine Drive also called the ‘Queen’s Necklace’ and the Stock Exchange among others. It is a city that pulsates with life, a city that never sleeps and where skyscrapers stand alongside slums.
A major attraction near the city are the rock-cut temples on Elephanta Island. Hewn out of solid rock, the sculptures are said to have been carved between 450-470 AD. There is one main cave with many carvings of the Hindu God Shiva, apart from other caves.
This tour will show you the attractions of Mumbai and the Elephanta Caves. Don’t miss it.
