On your tour of Morocco, explore the colorful souks (open-air markets) of Marrakech, Within the labyrinth of the Medina, these souks are among Morocco’s most famous and display colorful and richly varied wares. Shop for hand-crafted slippers, traditional woodwork, brass, iron and bronze artifacts, jewellery, kaftans, carpets, spices and pottery.

In the Djemaa El Fna square, acrobats, snake charmers and Gnawa musicians offer astonishing shows. Stroll along the world-famous Djemaa el-Fna, a huge square in the medina, with open-air food stalls serving authentic Moroccan cuisine and traditional entertainers. UNESCO has hailed it as ‘Masterpiece of World Heritage’.

Souks and Medina Tour in Marrakech - Itinéraire


1430h (02:30pm) - During the month of Ramadan 1400 (02:00pm): You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel in Marrakech for this cultural tour in Marrakech, where you will visit its colorful souks and Medina. Hotel pick-up is not possible at Riads in the Medina. If your hotel is not a pick-up location, please assemble at the central starting point at Holidays Services Agency in Marrakech, Complex Kawkab Center, Rue Imam Chafaï, Jnan El Harti, Guéliz.

Set out in an air-conditioned bus with your bilingual guide (English and French-speaking) for this sightseeing tour.

The breakdown of your itinerary is as follows:

1500h (03:00pm): Visit the Medersa Ben Youssef. This Islamic school dates back to the 16th century and used to be the most important such institution in the whole Maghreb.

1530h (03:30pm): Meet a traditional herbalist and see a presentation of the various spices that are used in the Moroccan healing system.

1600h (04:00pm): Walk in the Medina and discover the colorful and exotic Moroccan handicrafts. Explore the market, which is divided into smaller souks according to goods sold. This grand labyrinth features hand-crafted Moroccan good such as babouche slippers, woodworks, brass works, ironworks, bronze works, jewellery, kaftans, carpets, spices, and pottery. You will also be able to visit the best galleries for leather, antiques and hand crafted gold jewellery.

1730h (05:30pm): Enjoy strolling in the world-famous Djemaa El Fna square, Marrakech’s most popular tourist attraction. This bustling square is listed by UNESCO as a "Masterpiece of World Heritage". Snake charmers, acrobats, dancers, storytellers make it a lively hub of activity. The smell of exotic spices fills the air as stalls whip up lip-smacking Moroccan street delicacies.

1800h (06:00pm): Your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or the closest drop-off point in Marrakech.
