Cuernavaca and Taxco Tour - Overview

Set out on a culture and sightseeing tour of Cuernavaca, the city of eternal springs, steeped in rich colonial heritage. Take a trip to Taxco, popularly referred to as the ‘Silver Capital of the World’. Browse the famous parish church of Santa Prisca for its impressive Churrigueresque art style. Stroll down the town’s lovely cobbled streets admiring the silver work of skilled craftsmen. The charm and magic of Taxco allows you to discover a kind of romanticism that can only by found in Mexico’s “Magical Towns”!

As you walk the narrow streets, you can admire the architecture of the Cathedral which stands out from the rest as one of the city’s most beautiful religious structures. Shop from a range of ethnic silver trinkets and artifacts at the local market. As the day winds down, drop in at one of the bars near the main plaza to relax and admire the sunset.

Cuernavaca and Taxco Tour - Itinerary


You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from your hotel in Mexico City. Accompanied by a bilingual guide speaking English and Spanish, you will be taken to the colonial city of Cuernavaca. It is also known as ‘the city of eternal springs’ owing to its year round warm climate. Visit one of the oldest cathedrals in the American continent before continuing on.

Further on, proceed to the beautiful town of Taxco and head to the famous parish church of Santa Prisca. The quaint silver-mining town of Taxco is nestled on a steep hillside and has narrow cobblestone streets lined with well preserved colonial buildings. Enjoy a walk on its cobbled streets and soak up the old-world aura of the town. Along the way, stop for a delicious lunch (international buffet lunch) at a local restaurant.

You can visit the various stores and markets where precious silver products are sold at reasonable prices. To thoroughly enjoy the place, you could watch one of the frequent cultural events held in the squares and theatres.

After exploring the ‘Silver Capital of the World’, return to Mexico City and you will be dropped back to your hotel.

A confirmation voucher for your activity will appear on your screen and a copy will be sent to your mailbox.
You can easily change your dates,number of travellers and tour options during and after the booking process.
If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
What happens after you book
Please print the electronic voucher sent to you and give them to the operator on the day of the activity.
The voucher also includes the operator's complete contact details, and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you have.
