Xcaret Eco Theme Park Tour - Overview

If you wish to experience Mexico in a day, proceed to Xcaret and get a flavour of the Mayan culture, see indigenous flora and fauna, the turquoise Caribbean laced by pristine beaches, archaeological sites and a colourful marine life.

Take a refreshing swim in the underground rivers and explore ancient Mayan sinkholes, magical caves, rock formations and marine fossils. Wander down the Mayan village and you will come across beautiful replicas of the Mayan houses at Xcaret with their circular architecture.

Pan through the Coral Reef Aquarium and look-out for a rainbow of hundreds of fish, hard and soft corals, anemones, sponges and star fish among many others. When the sun sets, the call of the pre-Hispanic drums and the melancholic sound of the sea shells invite you to enjoy a spectacular cultural show bringing alive the Mayan times. It is a splendid feast of colours, sounds and traditions!

Xcaret Eco Theme Park Tour - Itinerary


You will be picked up at the lobby of one of the selected hotel in Cancun between 0730h to 1230h (07:30am to 12:30pm), in a deluxe air-conditioned coach and taken to Xcaret Eco Theme Park. ( Tour also departs from Senior Frog’s - Entrance, Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen – Lobby or Playacar Plaza – Gray Line Stand at Main Entrance.)It is located in Playa Del Carmen, about 45 minutes from Cancun along Riviera Maya. Xcaret is a proof that development, conservation, culture and entertainment are not opposite concepts. This tour has two options:

Option A: Eco park tour with buffet lunch at La Laguna restaurant and snorkelling equipment.
Option B: Eco park tour without lunch and snorkelling gear.

You will be accompanied by a bilingual guide speaking English and Spanish, who will help you choose the activities in the park. The theme park has a range of attractions: The Xcaret underground river invites you to explore the soft and refreshing currents of waters and marvel at this ancient creation of Mexican nature. You can even swim with bottlenose dolphins (payable direct). You can also visit the eco archaeological sites for a glimpse into the history and culture of the Mayan civilization. Visit the replica of a Mayan village and witness how common people lived at the time. The Mayan customs and traditions can be experienced through the work of their craftsmen and weavers. Visit the aquarium, regarded as the best in Mexico, it is full of Mexican Caribbean living nature and has a spectacular coral reef view. In fact, it is the only aquarium in the world where you will have the opportunity to experience at close range the delicate biodiversity of the multicoloured underwater gardens of the Mexican Caribbean. You can also visit the aviary and watch bird breeding, explore the mushroom farm, see the orchids, swim in the lagoon, stroll on the beach, explore the natural pools, spot sea turtles, visit the butterfly pavilion, the botanical garden or snorkel in the underground river (equipment will be provided if option A selected).

You can enjoy an international buffet lunch at La Laguna restaurant beneath broad palm roofs (if Option A selected). However, the park has 5 restaurants where excellent international or Mexican cuisine can be savoured to the rhythm of vibrant folkloric musical ensembles.

From 1900h to 2100h (07:00 pm to 09:00 pm) in summers and 1800h to 2000h (06:00 pm to 08:00 pm) in winters, you can enjoy a cultural show, where 300 artists on stage will delight you with the best of culture, music and regional dances of Mexico. The Xcaret Mexico Night Show is considered the best folkloric show in Mexico and the best known world-wide. After enjoying the night show, depart for Cancun, you will be dropped back to your designated hotel or the starting point of the tour.
