Overview
A tour of the Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza combined with a brilliant light and sound show at the monument site, is a must-do for every visitor to Mexico! Pause at the Mayaland Hotel, world’s first hotel within an archaeological site and savour a lunch of Yucatan specialities.
Scale up the Pyramid of Kukulkan at the archaeological zone of El Castillo in Chichen Itza. The pyramid represents a Mayan calendar made in stone with carvings of the plumed serpent (Kukulkan) on its stairways.
When it gets dark, set out towards the monument site and experience a spellbinding display of sound and light. See a projected light shadow over the architectonic elements of the building resembling a serpent descending to the ground, Mayan warriors playing the ball game and the sound of death and life. This is an exciting show full of history, light effects and awesome ancestry!

Itinerary
There is no hotel pick-up. Please make your way to Senior Frog’s - Entrance, Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen – Lobby or Playacar Plaza – Gray Line Stand at Main Entrance where you will board your air-conditioned coach and will be taken to Chichen Itza. On your way, make a quick stop (20 minutes) for services in a Mayan village. At around 1400h (02:00 pm), you will arrive at the Mayaland Hotel, the first hotel built at Chichen Itza, and the world's first within an archaeological site. After arriving at the hotel, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with typical Yucatan dishes as well as poultry, hamburgers and salad bar while watching regional people dancing folkloric music (drinks not included). Then, enter into the archaeological site by the private gate of Mayaland. Once inside, accompanied by an English and Spanish speaking guide, you will be taken on a 1 ½ hour tour of the Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza.
Chichen Itza is an important archaeological zone of the Mayan World, the ancient capital of the Mayan Empire. You can admire the majestic Observatory, the Sacred Cenote where sacrifices took place, the Ball Court, the Castle, the Pyramid of Kukulkan and all the remains of this ancient culture. Observe the extraordinary and highly decorated ceremonial architecture of its buildings, all built without metal tools. After exploring the archaeological site, return to the Mayaland Hotel and you will have free time to walk around. You can enjoy the facilities at the hotel such as swimming pool, lounge chairs, sun beds, and towels among others.
Get together again to see the light and sound show that begins at 2000h (08:00 pm) in spring and summer and 1900h (07:00 pm) in autumn and winter. After enjoying a spectacular light and sound show, return to Cancun and you will be dropped back from where you started.
