Overview
A trip to the Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a must-do for all visitors to Mexico. Pause at the Mayaland Hotel, world’s first hotel within an archaeological site and savour a lunch of Yucatan specialities. Gain entry into the monument site through the private gate of the resort.
Scale up the Pyramid of Kukulkan at the archaeological zone of El Castillo in Chichen Itza. The pyramid represents a Mayan calendar made in stone with carvings of the plumed serpent (Kukulkan) on its stairways. You’ll come across carvings depicting players with padding on their elbows and knees and players wielding bats.
See the Temple of the Warriors complex comprising a large stepped pyramid flanked by rows of carved columns depicting warriors. Explore this extremely well-preserved Mayan archaeological site and get a glimpse into the culture and history of this ancient civilization.

Itinerary
Our excursion begins by picking up all passengers between 7:00-8:05am from the lobbies of all major Cancun hotels (Zone 1).
You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach and taken to Chichen Itza. On your way, make a quick stop (20 minutes) for services in a Mayan village. At around 1200h (12:00 pm), you will arrive at the Mayaland Hotel, the first hotel built at Chichen Itza, and the world's first within an archaeological site. After arriving at the hotel, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch with typical Yucatan dishes as well as poultry, hamburgers and salad bar while watching regional people dancing folkloric music (drinks not included). Then, enter into the archaeological site by the private gate of Mayaland. Once inside, accompanied by an English and Spanish speaking guide, you will be taken on a 1 ½ hour tour of the Mayan archaeological site of Chichen Itza.
Chichen Itza is an important archaeological zone of the Mayan World, the ancient capital of the Mayan Empire. You can admire the majestic Observatory, the Sacred Cenote where sacrifices took place, the Ball Court, the Castle, the Pyramid of Kukulkan and all the remains of this ancient culture. Observe the extraordinary and highly decorated ceremonial architecture of its buildings, all built without metal tools. After exploring the archaeological site, return to the Mayaland Hotel and you can enjoy the facilities at the hotel such as swimming pool, lounge chairs, sun beds, and towels among others. After relaxing for a while, return to Cancun and you will be dropped back to your designated hotel. Total duration of this option is 11 hours.
After your first visit to the Chichen Itza tour and Yucatan lunch, you can enjoy a range of drinks at the open bar of Mayaland Hotel. You can use all the installations such as lounge, hammocks, pool, towels, bathrooms and discounts at the Mayaland stores. The total duration of this option is 12 hours.
