Famous Shanghai Landmarks : Bund, Tunnel, Oriental Pear TV Tower
-
Overview
Shanghai has some of the most stunning landmarks in China…take this tour and find out for yourself.
Visit the famous Bund and enjoy the impressive skyline of Shanghai. The Bund, also called the Zhongshan Road, is Shanghai’s famous waterfront running along the west shore of the Huangpu River, forming the eastern boundary of old downtown Shanghai. Today it consists of a marvellous promenade, a perfect platform for strolling along the busy river. Just across the wide avenue that parallels the promenade is Shanghai's signature cityscape, a long wall of colonial-era European buildings erected by foreign governments, trading houses. It offers a splendid view of Pudong’s modern skyscrapers across the river.
The Bund's Tunnel stretches from the end of Nanjing Lu on the Puxi side to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower on the Lujiazui side - a total length of 646.70 meters. This tunnel was finished in 2000 and was the first pedestrian tunnel built in China.
Towering high up in the Pudong New Area, the Oriental Pearl T V Tower is one of the most famous landmarks of Shanghai. The tower is 468 m high, the highest in Asia and the third highest in the world and consists of 15 spheres of different sizes at different levels creating an artistic conception of "large and small pearls dropping onto a jade plate".

Itinerary
You will be picked up from your hotel and taken in an air-conditioned car or mini coach (depending on the number of passengers) for a sightseeing tour of the famous attractions of Shanghai. An English-speaking tour guide will accompany you on this tour.
The highlights of the tour include:
• The Bund: The Bund is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Shanghai. It starts from the Baidu Bridge, which is at the connecting point of the Huangpu River and the Suzhou Creek, to the East Jinling Road and winds a 1.5 kilometres. Walking along the Bund, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower can be seen on the opposite side and also the Jin Mao Tower. The two most famous buildings on the Bund are the Peace Hotel and the domed edifice that was once the headquarters of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corporation (HSBC), one of the largest banks in the world today. The Bund was once known as the financial capital of Asia.
• The Tunnel (one-way): Walk through China’s first pedestrian tunnel. Enter the tunnel through a elevator at the entrance on either side. It takes about two to five minutes to walk the length of the tunnel. Many high-tech displays are featured inside. All kinds of designs, ads, panoramic displays and background music about people, history, culture and technology are displayed throughout the tunnel, making your visit there both interesting and thrilling. The Bund's Tunnel stretches from the end of Nanjing Lu on the Puxi side to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower on the Lujiazui side - a total length of 646.70 meters.
• Oriental Pearl TV Tower: The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui. The tower, surrounded by the Yangpu Bridge in the northeast and the Nanpu Bridge in the southwest, creates a picture of 'twin dragons playing with pearls'. It is the tallest structure in Asia.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Shanghai.
