Langkawi Island – Legends and Myths Tour - Itinerary


(This tour is available in two options – coach and private. The private option offers you greater flexibility and you can spend as much or as little time at any of the places that you visit. Unlike the tight schedules of coach tours, the private option allows you to do the tour at your own pace.)

You will be picked up form your hotel in a coach/ private vehicle for this tour. To better understand these mythical tales of Langkawi, the tour will visit a selection of historical sites and attractions closely associated with them.

Tomb of Mahsuri, probably the most famous tale from Langkawi is that of a woman accused of adultery 200 years ago. She was tied to a tree and stabbed to death despite her pleas of innocence. The story goes on to say that she bled white blood, and proceeded to curse the island for seven generations. The legend of Mahsuri makes for a great story and a tomb supposed to be hers is located in Kuab.

Eagle Square is Langkawi's most prominent landmark. Situated near the Kuah jetty it is a magnificent statue of a reddish brown eagle majestically poised for flight. According to local folklore, Langkawi derived its name from - the eagle or "helang". In old Malay, "kawi" denotes reddish brown - hence, Langkawi means reddish brown eagle! The square is beautifully landscaped and illuminated at night.

The tour then stops at the Galeria Perdana, home to a collection of official gifts presented by heads of states and other prominent individuals to the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The tour will stop for some light shopping at a batik village and Kuah Town where you can pick up mementoes of your holiday here.

After the tour of legendary Langkawi you will be taken back to your hotel.

A confirmation voucher for your activity will appear on your screen and a copy will be sent to your mailbox.

If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
