3 Day Garden Route - Cape Town to Port Elizabeth

Itinerary
Day 1. Cape Town – Ostrich Farm – Oudtshoorn
In the morning, you will be picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Cape Town. Accompanied by English-speaking guide, you will depart from Cape Town and drive to Swellendam and Mossel Bay. Here you will visit the oldest post office in Africa, the Post Office Tree and the site of the first landfall, made by Portuguese explorer Bartholomew Dias in 1488.
Further on, travel over the Outeniqua Mountains to the Little Karoo to visit an Ostrich Farm for some unique experiences including ostrich racing. You can even ride on the back of an ostrich. Spend the night at Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. You will check in at La Plume Guest House or similar for the night. Dinner will be served to you in the hotel.
La Plume is a 1902 Victorian homestead on a working ostrich, alfalfa and vine farm. Set in the tranquil Olifantsrivier Valley it demands spectacular views of the Swartberg Mountains. It is a place of rejuvenation. It is an unexpected oasis. It is a place of opulent indulgence. The guesthouse has comfortable accommodation equipped with all modern amenities. You will be unable to resist the sparkling pool set among lush lawns and with never-ending views when you return after a day's activity.
Day 2. Oudtshoorn – Wilderness National Park – Knysna
Your package includes daily breakfast. After breakfast, you will be taken to visit the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa’s foremost natural wonders. The fascinating calcite caves comprise an underground wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites.
Further on, travel past Oudtshoorn and over the Outeniqua Mountains to George and Wilderness for a visit to the Wilderness National Park lakes area. Drive around the lakes to Knysna on the edge of the Knysna Lagoon with its entrance to the sea guarded by two promontories known as the ‘Heads’. The area also falls within a National Park proclaimed to conserve the extraordinary natural beauty of the lakeland and adjacent indigenous forests. Knysna also offers shopping opportunities of unusual locally made art and craft. Spend the night at Fish Eagle Lodge or similar in Knysna. You will be served dinner in your hotel.
Fish Eagle Lodge nested on the banks of a turquoise blue lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route is the picturesque town of Knysna. The tranquility of the lake and distant bush is nature at its undisturbed best. It offers comfortable accommodation with all modern amenities and restaurants serving international cuisine.
Day 3. Knysna - Tsitsikamma National Park – Port Elizabeth
After breakfast, explore Knysna. Further on, travel via Plettenberg Bay for a short visit. Pass through magnificently scenic river valley passes, before you visit the Tsitsikamma National Park. The park stretches along more than 100 kilometres of wild and rocky coastline characterized by massive cliffs, narrow isolated beaches and shady indigenous forests along the river valleys.
You then visit Storms River with the impressive Paul Sauer Bridge across the valley towering some 139 metres above the river.
The final part of your journey will take you past a few coastal holiday villages to Port Elizabeth. You will be taken on a short tour around the city. The tour ends at Port Elizabeth.
