There is no hotel pick-up for this Tour of Chinatown and night markets . Please make your way to the lobby of the Viengtai Hotel, 42 Rambutri Rd, Banglamphu.

This is a small group with a maximum of 12 passengers per tour.

Step back in time with a visit to the old markets in Yaowarat, in the heart of Bangkok’s vibrant Chinatown district. The founders of the district were Chinese traders who came to Bangkok village when it was the capital of Siam, making the community virtually as old as the city itself.

The land where the Grand Palace now stands once belonged to the traders, but when King Rama I moved the capital from Ayuthaya to Bangkok some 200 years ago, the community was asked to resettle in its current location.

Transfer to the Ratchawong Pier on the Chao Praya River. Walk along the pier to Song Wat Road , which is bordered by old business buildings and warehouses, most of which are still operating today. Emerge in the plastic and leather quarter on Yaowa Phanit Road , where you can shop for all kinds of low-price keepsakes.

Your next stop is a 100-year old coffee shop on Pha Sai Road , where you can enjoy a coffee and a snack while you soak up the electric atmosphere of the surroundings.

Rejuvenated, continue to Issarnuparb Road and visit a market that specializes in Chinese religious products alongside fresh food from land and sea. In the evenings, Yaowaraj Road becomes a sea of street stalls, effectively forming one expansive food bazaar. The culinary options range from street stalls to the finest Chinese restaurants. Take a seat with your guide and try some charcoal-grilled seafood from a street stall.

After dinner, continue on foot to the Saphan Put Night Market , where you’ll find a vast array of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, second hand collections and antiques on sale. You can also sit for a street artist, and in no time at all you’ll have a portrait of yourself to take home as a souvenir.

The final stop of the night is at Pakklong Talad ("talad" meaning market in Thai), the largest wholesale flower and vegetable market in Bangkok. The flowers of Pakklong Talad acquire a special beauty under night’s golden lamps.

You are free to continue exploring the area at tour’s end or your guide will assist you in getting a taxi back to your hotel (payable direct).
