Itinerary
Wicklow’s hilly countryside .Wicklow’s hilly countryside and visit the Powerscourt Estate that has existed since 1300 and changed Anglo-Norman hands a few times before it was bought by Richard Wingfield, the newly appointed Marshall of Ireland. Nestled in the heart of Wicklow’s hilly countryside, the Estate opens up a panorama of sprawling landscaped gardens, sweeping terraces, ornamental lakes, secret hollows, trails and walled enclosures, replete with trees and shrubs, which once belonged to Richard Wingfield, Marshall of Ireland.
Glendalough (Valley of Two Lakes). You’ll see ruins of a 6th century monastic settlement founded the by a young monk named Kevin. Glendalough is the site of a 10th century Round Tower, considered one of the best preserved in Ireland.
Avoca village to see Avoca Handweavers, the oldest weaving mill in Ireland. Pick up souvenirs like traditional glasswork, leather, silk, pottery, jewellery, books and perfume at the Avoca craft shop.
