This easy comfortable bike ride is the perfect way to explore Sydney.

The easy route follows quiet streets, cycle lanes or wide-open paths and avoids hills and busy streets. It shows you stunning views of the beautiful Harbour, the great arch of the Bridge and the celebrated Opera House, and leads you through the luxuriant Botanic Gardens and through the wide open space of Hyde Park.

There will be many stops along the way. You will learn about the history of Sydney, hear interesting and amusing stories and take plenty of great photos. Your guide will ensure that you have plenty of breaks so you are never on the bike for too long without a rest.

    The tour starts from the activity operator's office which is upstairs at 29a-31a Playfair St, The Rocks. The easiest way to get to The Rocks is by train to Circular Quay. Services by Sydney Buses and Sydney Ferries also deliver passengers to Circular Quay as it is the transport hub for the northern area of the Central Business District.     Please report at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start time. This is mandatory to allow time for pre-departure briefing.

Sydney Bike Tour – the Best of Sydney - Itinerary




The Sydney Bike Tour is a superb introduction to the Sydney area.

Before your ride starts, you will need to complete an insurance form. Then you will be given a helmet and safety vest. Once all riders are ready, there will be a briefing about the ride, the bikes, and safety.

You will then be allocated a modern, comfortable bike that is extremely easy to ride. The tour operator can make any necessary adjustments to ensure the height is correct for you.

Once you have your bike, there will be an opportunity to give it a test ride so that you feel confident.

The 10 km (6 miles) ride is mostly on flat land and is very easy – there are only a couple of very small hills and no challenging climbs. The well-planned route keeps you away from the city traffic.

Led by your local English-speaking tour leader, you will set off through the historic district of The Rocks and then over the Harbour Bridge. You will spend about an hour exploring the harbour, and seeing Circular Quay and the Opera House.

The group will stop for light refreshments near the Opera House before riding through the lushBotanic Gardens and along to Mrs Macquaries Chair – an exposed sandstone rock carved by convicts into the shape of a bench.

Your route then takes you to Hyde Park through the city to Darling Harbour, with its bars, restaurants and cafes. You then make your way back to the starting point and will be treated to a cool refreshing drink (beer, wine or a soft drink) at a pub in The Rocks.

Your tour ends back at the starting point.

The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.
There will be no more than 12 people on the tour.
If you arrive early at the tour operator's office, you may like to grab a coffee or breakfast at Cafe Danieli located right below the office.
An additional bottle of water (3 AUD) and sunscreen (10 AUD can be purchased at the activity operator's office at the beginning of the tour.
The bike ride covers approximately 10 km (6 miles)

Please be at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before departure.
The tour will run in all weather except heavy rain. Rain ponchos will be provided in inclement weather and a more protected route will be taken
Do's & Don'ts
Wear comfortable shoes (walking, running or hiking shoes), shorts, or long comfortable pants in winter. Bring a warm jacket for the cooler months (May to September), a waterproof jacket if the forecast is rain, water bottle, sunscreen SPF 30+, hat and sunglasses. And don't forget your camera!

Please print the electronic voucher sent to you and give them to the operator on the day of the activity.
