Pre- Hispanic mythology and Wari legend will weave its magic around you as you explore the ruins of Pachacamac, Peru’s most renowned pre-Hispanic pilgrimage site. According to Wari legend, Pachacamac was the God of ‘fire and earthquakes. These temple ruins of Pachacamac lie just 30 kilometres south of Lima, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Although the earliest constructions at Pachacamac only date back to around 200 A.D., it is famed as the site of an important Inca Temple, the Temple of the Sun and the ‘House of the Chosen Women’.

As you tread the paths of an ancient people, the magic and timelessness of the ruins will give you a sense of Peru’s dynamic past.

This tour is available in two options: coach and private. The private option offers you greater convenience and flexibility of time.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Lima and taken in an air-conditioned vehicle for a sightseeing tour of the Pachacamac Temple. A bilingual guide (English/Spanish) will accompany you on this tour.

The ruins of Pachacamac, Peru’s most renowned pre-Hispanic pilgrimage site, lie just 30 kilometres south of Lima, in the valley of Lurín and overlook the Pacific Ocean.

Pachacamac was long revered by Andean peoples as the creator of the universe, and great monuments were built to honor this divine being. Paramount among these is this ancient citadel close to Lima. Within impressive enclosures, you’ll see pyramidal temples, the Sun God Shrine and the Palace of the Chosen Women or Virgins of the Sun. This sacred ceremonial site - built over the course of centuries - will deepen your appreciation of Peru’s pre-Columbian and Incan history.

Wander around these fascinating ruins and enjoy stunning views of the coast.

At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Lima.
