Experience all the drama and enchantment of a tropical jungle at night on Singapore Zoo’s multi-award-winning Night Safari.
Travel in an open tram through varied terrain that’s home to more than 1,000 animals, ranging from fierce predators to timid forest dwellers. Under subtle moon glow lighting, which enables you to see the animals but doesn’t distract them, you can watch Cape buffalo, African bongo, blue sheep, striped hyena, golden jackal, the rare great one-horned rhinoceros and other creatures playing, prowling or feeding in the Night Safari's lush grounds.
Then take a guided night-time trail walk to see the animals close-up, or choose instead to watch the acclaimed ‘Creatures of the Night Show’, which demonstrates the behavior and survival skills of an amazing variety of animals from pumas to pythons.
You also have the option of adding a delicious meal to your delightful night out. Select the ‘With Dinner’ option and enjoy an extensive array of local favorites and international cuisine in a charmingly rustic setting at Ulu Ulu Safari Restaurant.
Halloween Special: During October 2010 on selected dates (01, 02, 08, 09, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 and 31 October) the Night Safari Tram will be transformed into the “Train of Terror” and guests will experience the wild and weird realm of the Asian ghost and wondering souls. This transformation will happen on Fridays and Saturdays and Halloween Day. Itinerary
There are two options for your nocturnal jungle adventure: Singapore Night Safari -Standard and Singapore Night Safari -With Dinner.
Singapore Night Safari -Standard
You will be picked up from your hotel in Singapore and taken in an air-conditioned coach to Singapore Zoo. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on the tour.
The highly popular Singapore Night Safari is the world’s first ‘night zoo’ experience and has scooped a number of coveted tourism awards. When you arrive at the venue, you will board a tram for your ‘safari’ through a huge jungle park. The tram is open-sided, allowing you unimpeded views of the animals. An English-speaking guide from the Zoo will go with you and point out the creatures you can see on the route.
In the complete safety and comfort of the tram, you will travel through the East and West Loop of the Night Safari, passing a large reservoir and weaving through habitats designed to replicate natural environments from the Himalayan foothills to the South-east Asian rainforest and Indian subcontinent.
The varied terrain of the park covers 40 hectares and is home to over 1000 animals of more than 110 species. Subtle lighting techniques allow you to see what is happening in the jungle at night without causing disturbance to the inhabitants.
After your jungle tram ride, you can opt for a guided trail walk where you will be able to view some animals such as fishing cats, bats, flying squirrels or even leopards at closer quarters.
Alternatively, you could choose to see the excellent Creatures of the Night Show. It`s part entertainment, part information with a surprising twist at the end! You’ll witness the jumping ability of pumas and the power and vision of owls among other neat interactive demonstrations. You will also meet a 20 foot python.
If you opt for ‘Creatures of the Night’, your tour guide will not remain with you during the show so you must make arrangements to meet up with the vehicle for the return journey.
At the end of the Night Safari, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Singapore. You could also choose to stay longer at the Night Safari if you wish. In that case you should inform your guide and will be responsible for making your own way back to your hotel.
Singapore Night Safari (With Dinner)
This tour option is the same as the one described above except that you will enjoy a delicious dinner at the Ulu Ulu restaurant before the Night Safari experience. At the restaurant, you will be presented with a sumptuous international buffet spread of Western and Asian dishes.
