Floating Market and River Kwai Tour
-
Overview
T-shirts, silk dress, toys, fruits, vegetables, snacks, hats – go on a family sightseeing trip to famous attractions around Bangkok. The Damnoen Saduak or Floating Market typifies the quintessential image of Thailand - wooden canoes laden with multi-coloured fruits and vegetables, paddled by Thai women wearing indigo-hued clothes and wide-brimmed straw hats, and makes for great photo shoot as well.
Learn about the grim history of the world-famous ‘Bridge over the River Kwai’. Movies and books have highlighted the sufferings of the Allied Prisoners Of War (POW) who built the bridge during World War II. A new bridge has been constructed and much of the railway track dismantled soon after the war's end. Only the original track which cuts through Burmese and Thai jungles still remains. The War Museum, on the banks of the River Kwai, houses replicas of bamboo huts where the Allied POWs were held.
Tour the famous attractions around Bangkok and experience the charms of traditional Thai living and relive the horrors of WW II.
