Excursion to the Tropical Islands, Rio - Itinerary


You will be picked up from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and taken in an air-conditioned coach to Itacuruca city (approximately 95 kilometres from Rio). A multilingual guide will accompany you on this tour.

The ride will take you along the Santos River Highway, with its sinewy contour that runs between the dense forest-covered mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, to the city of Itacuruça.

At Itacuruca, board a schooner (locally known as 'saveiros') for a full-day cruise around the Tropical Islands.

Begin your trip from the calm waters which are protected from the open sea by a sandbar and which form the Sepetiba Bay. The Septiba Bay is home to over 300 islands which are true tropical paradises and possess various inlets, beaches and flagstones covered with dense vegetation.

It is common to spot dolphins, giant king-fishers, parrots, turtles and sting-rays here.

During the tour of the principal islands of the Bay, you will make stops for lunch as well as swimming and snorkelling on one of the islands.

The return trip is equally relaxing as you sail around the surrounding islands.

Return to Itacuruca where you will board your coach for the homeward journey.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
