Bangkok boasts of no less than three of the most distinguished Buddhist temples in the world: Wat Trimitr, with its 900-year old solid gold Buddha weighing five and a half tons and which is the largest Golden Buddha image in the world; Bangkok's oldest and largest temple Wat Po, with its huge reclining Buddha and traditional massage school; and Wat Benjamaborpitr, otherwise known as the White Marble Temple, one of the finest specimens of Thai architecture. A visit to this temple is best in the morning when monks are chanting inside the chapel.

This tour is available in two options – coach and private. The private option offers you greater flexibility- you can spend as much time at any of the places you visit, as per your preference.

You will be picked up from either your hotel or directly from the airport (if you prefer) and taken on a temple tour of the city, accompanied by a local English-speaking guide.

On this tour, you will visit:
• Wat Trimitr (Golden Buddha Temple): Made of pure solid gold, Phra Maha Suwanpatimagorn or Sukhothai Trimitr is the largest Golden Buddha image in the world. Originally, this golden Buddha image was completely covered with plaster to conceal it from the enemy then invading Thailand and was installed as the principal Buddha image in the main temple building of Choti-naram Temple or Wat Phrayakrai, Yannawa District, Bangkok. It was discovered only in the last century when the layer came off.
• Wat Po (Reclining Buddha Temple): Wat Pho, also known as Wat Phra Chetuphon or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is the oldest and largest Buddhist temple in Bangkok. This massive gold-plated image depicts Buddha achieving nirvana. He is decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay on his eyes and the soles of his feet are intricately decorated with 108 auspicious scenes in Chinese and Indian styles. This temple also has the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand with 394 gilded Buddha statues and a small collection of tiled stupas.
• Wat Benjamaborpitr (Marble Temple): Built entirely out of marble, the Temple is one of the finest examples of Thai architecture. A fusion of classical Thai architecture and 19th century Italian design boasting marble and stained-glass windows, this is one of Bangkok's most spectacular temples. Bronze Buddha images line the walls of this magnificent temple, which houses statues of the Buddha.



This tour will return to the original starting point after approximately three hours.

Pattaya hotels outside the City Centre area : Ambassador Jomtien, Botanic Resort and Pinnacle Jomtien / Golden Beach are subject to a surcharge of USD 11 per person per way payable directly.
