Auschwitz – Birkenau Tour - Overview

Auschwitz Birkenau was one of the largest of the Nazi concentration camps. It is estimated that during World War II around 1.5 million people died at Auschwitz. In 1979 Auschwitz was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites and commemorates the lives of the many who died here. A visit to Auschwitz is a somber experience, yet understanding the atrocities that occurred at Auschwitz is an important means of ensuring such events never happen again.

On this Auschwitz tour you will visit Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II (Birkenau), both large extermination and imprisonment camps. You will also visit the memorial museum and watch a moving documentary on life in the camp.

Auschwitz – Birkenau Tour - Itinerary




You will be picked up from Krakow and taken by coach to Auschwitz Birkenau – the drive takes around 90 minutes.

On arrival your guide will show you around The Auschwitz Memorial Museum (founded in 1947). Launched in 1947 the museum works to keep the legacy of the millions who suffered at Auschwitz alive.

Your tour continues as your guide takes you to Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II Birkenau. The visits last around 2 hours and 1 hour respectively. While on the coach you will be shown a moving documentary about live at Auschwitz.

After your guided tour of Auschwitz you will return to Krakow by coach.

Note: Pick up schedule from various locations in the city centre. Please advise your hotel at the time of booking. If your hotel is not mentioned in attachment we will advise you on the most convenient pick up point when your tour is confirmed.

A confirmation voucher for your activity will appear on your screen and a copy will be sent to your mailbox.

If your tour status is On Request we will not charge your card until we have been able to confirm your booking with our supplier.  If your tour status is bookable online, your card will be charged when you click confirm and pay.Please note that you don't have to pay anything at the destination.
What happens after you book
Please print the electronic voucher sent to you and give them to the operator on the day of the activity.
The voucher also includes the operator's complete contact details, and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you have.

How to Cancel
